The Elders visit Rafah border crossing
On my visit to Rafah crossing 2 weeks ago with the former Irish President Mary Robinson as members of The Elders delegation, we spoke of unfolding famine and genocide in Gaza.
The situation has worsened since: famine has been declared and growing numbers of legal and genocide scholars are of the view that the tests for determining genocide have been met. At some point, but not before late 2027, the International Court of Justice is likely to rule on the matter - too late of course for the dead, injured, and displaced of Gaza.
See my op ed in NZ Stuff on our visit to the closed Rafah crossing and events since then.
