Women Deliver conference in Melbourne

6,000 delegates gathered in Melbourne this week for the triennial Women Deliver Conference. Great to see Pasifika peoples, Maori Women’s Welfare League and Australian First Nations there in force with women from around the world. Discussions ranged from Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights to climate action, gender equality, reform of the multilateral system, the election of the next UN SG, the horror of the death penalty, with hundreds of women around the world on death row mainly because of convictions related to drugs, and more. I also did sessions about the works of Gavi Alliance, GWL Voices, Global Commission on Drug Policy and Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.
