The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) - Board Chair

Helen Clark was elected Board Chair of the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) on 29 March 2023. In this role, she has engaged with the Alliance Board, health practitioners, and health policy and systems researchers and writers, and has welcomed robust discussion on the challenges facing health and health systems worldwide.

Health and health systems everywhere are being shaped by the polycrisis confronting the world. The health policy and systems research field can contribute greatly to identifying solutions and working across sectors to deliver them.

The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) is an international partnership hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) that works to connect research with real-world decision-making to help build stronger, fairer health systems. It supports the generation and use of locally relevant health policy and systems research, helps strengthen capacity and partnerships (particularly in low- and middle-income countries), and promotes evidence-informed approaches to improve health systems and advance health equity.
